The Classical University of Ternopil was visited by a degetion from Turkey
Today West Ukrainian National University welcomed Yagmur Ahmet Guldere, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Ukraine.
Rector of the Classical University of Ternopil Andriy Krysovatyy greeted the guests with an ancient Ukrainian tradition - with a korovai. Students of the Reserve Officers Training Center solemnly raised the flags of the Republic of Turkey and Ukraine, and the anthems of the two states were played. Both prof. Krysovatyy and Ambassador Guldere briefly spoke about the developing relations between Turkey and Ukraine and greeted the University staff and students.
The guests had the chance to view the photo exhibition "Turkey: a country of opportunities" prepared by the University family, as well as the Electronic Library that has access to all the leading databases of the world. Mr. Ambassador also participated in the opening ceremony for the Center for Eastern Studies that will function within the scope of B. Havrylyshyn Education and Research Institute of International Relations and help to implement new joint projects with partner universities.
However, the most emotional meeting was undoubtedly the one between Ambassador Guldere and WUNU students. The young people attended a short lecture followed by a Q&A session. The youth was interested in new opportunities for cooperation with Turkish universities, shared their impressions of being at Marmara University, and were interested in the opinion of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Ukraine on the Autonomous Republic of Crimea. Ambassador Guldere was very kind to answer all the questions and remark that cooperation between our countries is deepening and new opportunities are opening up for the youth of Ukraine.
