International Round Table "New Forms of Institutionalization of Theology in the Secular Education System"

 The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the Classical University of Ternopiln organized an International Round Table "New Forms of Institutionalization of Theology in the Secular Education System" on March 17.


In a short time, a thorough strategy was developed, as well as the format and main vectors of the new development programme. Significant human potential, important theoretical and applied developments, cooperation with secular and theological institutions of higher education in Slovakia, Poland, Italy and Canada.


The international round table brought together five discussion platforms: current trends in the social institution of the Catholic Church; theory and practice of social service: domestic and international experience; integration of secular and religious education in the context of modern transformational challenges; spiritual education as an important factor in sociocultural identity personality; media strategy of the church in the modern world.


Professors of the Catholic University of Ruzomberok, Pontifical University of John Paul II in Krakow, University of Warmia and Mazury in Olsztyn have all offered interesting and rich in-depth reports. Oksana Desyatnyuk (WUNU Vice-Rector of Academic Affairs and Research), Oksana Homotiuk (Dean of Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences), Yurii Zarutskyi (representative of Ternopil Regional Administration) also addressed the attendees.


The most important result of the International Round Table was the decision to establish an international student Christian society on the basis of West Ukrainian National University with the involvement of student youth from Ukraine, Poland, Slovakia and Italy. It was also agreed to establish an international working group of experts on the development of social theology as a scientific and educational field of the humanities.
