Classical University of Ternopil develops international cooperation!
A delegation of West Ukrainian National University headed by Oksana Desyatnyuk (Vice-Rector for International Relations) visited Tajikistan.
During their stay in Tajikistan, our scientists met with the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan and discussed issues of cooperation, in particular - expanding opportunities for students from Tajikistan to study in Ukrainian higher education institutions.
The Ukrainian State Center for International Education of the Ministry of Education and Science has organized an educational forum "Study in Ukraine" in the capital of the Republic of Tajikistan, Dushanbe. It was attended by the Ministers of Education and Science of Ukraine and the Republic of Tajikistan, the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Tajikistan, representatives of almost 80 leading higher education institutions of Ukraine, including West Ukrainian National University. The goal of the educational event was to popularize the opportunities of higher education in Ukraine for foreign students, as stipulated by the Decree of the President of Ukraine. Such a forum will expand opportunities for the development of cooperation in the field of education between Ukraine and the Republic of Tajikistan.
The delegates had the opportunity to discuss further cooperation between scientists of Ukraine and Tajikistan with the President of the National Academy of Sciences Farhod Rahimi, who showed the guests an invention of Tajik scientists - a device for artificial lung ventilation, which was created to respond quickly to the spread of coronavirus disease. The process of obtaining a patent for the device is underway.
During the visit to the Republic of Tajikistan, the delegation met with Deputy Prime Minister Matlubahon Sattorova. They agreed on further cooperation between higher education institutions of the Republic of Tajikistan and Ukraine, as well as discussed joint projects and research between the national academies of sciences.
The Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine Serhiy Shkarlet expressed gratitude for the warm welcome of the Ukrainian delegation and the opportunity to meet in person, despite the difficulties caused by the coronavirus pandemic. He stressed that such large-scale events will open new horizons and prospects for the development of bilateral projects in the field of education and science on the principles of reciprocity and effectiveness.
The visit of the delegation was a significant step towards close cooperation with Tajikistan.
