The Rector and several professors of West Ukrainian National University visited the Catholic University in Ruzomberok. Ukrainian scientists traveled to Slovakia to establish contacts with partner institutions, as well as to address the organization of the 12th International Conference on Advanced Computer Information Technologies (ACIT’2022) in 2022.
In addition to signing agreements on cooperation between the universities and a memorandum on the organization of the event, the delegation visited the City Hall of Levoca, which also cooperates with the Catholic University. Representatives of the Classical University of Ternopil met with the local organizing committee of the ACIT’2022 conference.
During the meeting, the parties agreed upon the division of responsibilities between the Ukrainian and Slovak sides for the organization of the ACIT’2022 conference, namely: the conference will be held at the Catholic University in Spišská Kapitula, which is located in the Spišské Podhradie area (Slovakia) and is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
During the meeting between the Rector of WUNU, Professor Andriy Krysovatyy and the chairman of the local organizing committee, Dr. Peter Maida, the issue of Slovak's grant support for the participants from Ukraine was agreed upon. In particular, the Slovak side undertook to attract international funds to support the universities with which the Catholic University cooperates, and to provide 50 grants to support Ukrainian scientists to participate in the ACIT'2022 conference, as well as grant support for 10 students of the classical university of Ternopil or schoolchildren, who plan to study at West Ukrainian National University in 2022. WUNU partners from the University of South Bohemia, who are co-organizers of the ACIT’2022 conference, also participated in the meeting.
The Advanced Computer Information Technologies conference will be the twelfth of its kind next year. In 2017, it received international status, and since 2018 the conference materials have been indexed by Web of Science and Scopus scientometric databases.
