Western Ukrainian Forum "IT Prospects"
The Faculty of Computer Information Technologies of West Ukrainian National University pays great attention to new educational initiatives for the development of IT education and introduction of world best practices in training of IT specialists to ensure they are competitive and guaranteed employment, in particular in IT companies.
Traditionally, every year students of 10-11 grades of secondary schools from Rivne, Volyn, Zakarpattia, Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Khmelnytskyi, Ternopil come to take part in Western Ukrainian Forum "IT Prospects" at WUNU.
The purpose of the event is to stimulate creative self-improvement of students in the field of information technologies, discuss prospects for IT education and present winter IT schools: Information Technology of the Future, Software Engineering Winter School (software development, ethical hackers, design of microcontroller systems, automated and computer integrated technologies; business process analysts).
The organizers - the teaching staff of FCIT and Ternopil IT Cluster. Partners - Ternopil Regional State Administration, Department of Education of Ternopil City Council; IT companies Apico, Crowdin, Eleks, Future Processing Ukraine, Softserve, as well as the organizing committee of the international conference "Advanced computer information technologies" and the Ternopil regional association of specialists in computer information technologies. The moderator is Kateryna Mikhailidi, the head of the Ternopil IT Cluster.
Representatives of IT companies acquainted students with the main activities of their organizations and emphasized the value of joint activities with faculties within the framework of dual education. In their speeches, students presented different segments of IT education, focusing on the features of educational programmes that they have chosen for education.
