West Ukrainian National University - a refuge for many families since day one
Since the first days of the war, West Ukrainian National University has become a refuge for many families affected by the aggressor's invasion. Since then, the classical university of Ternopil has hosted more than 2 000 people. People are staying for different stretches of time: some return home and others come again. The university staff provide comfortable living conditions, create new food units and equip technical rooms.
Deputy Head of the Ternopil Regional State Administration Viktor Ustenko got acquainted with the conditions of people's stay in the higher education institution. He talked to families from Mariupol and visited the rooms where they live.
WUNU volunteers provide food and help with psychological adaptation. Easter painting and art therapy master classes are held for children. We believe that the war will end and Ukrainian families will return home to be with family and friends.
