International Day for Protection of Children
The International Day for Protection of Children is traditionally celebrated on June 1 to remind everyone of the need to protect the rights of the younger generation.
Today poses new challenges to Ukraine in the field of protection of children's rights in connection with the escalation of violence and hostilities in the regions of our state. Every child has the full right to be protected, to develop and learn for a better future. This year we have not only a fun holiday for the children themselves, but also a reminder to society of the need to protect the rights of children, to strive for all children to grow up happy and in the future become good parents and citizens of their country.
Now Ukrainians are more united than ever. Everyone is trying to help our defenders. Employees of L. Kanishchenko Library of WUNU actively support Ukrainian defenders by weaving camouflage nets.
Today, the children of WUNU workers drew pictures for our defenders and wrote their wishes, attaching them to camouflage nets, which they decorated with ribbons of fabric infused with love and respect for our soldiers. They did it very diligently, showing their childlike sensitivity. The children believe that each camouflage net will allow them to be invisible and save the lives of the military.
The greatest dream of every Ukrainian child is a peaceful sky, a happy childhood and not quite a "childish" desire - the elimination of the enemy occupier.
Toddlers should not have unhappy childhoods, and we adults should be responsible for that, so caring for children and protecting their rights should be one of our most important duties.
So, let us warm every child's heart with love and care, unite together for the sake of the future. Then small citizens will grow up to be worthy people and will certainly become the pride of Ukraine.
