At the invitation of the president of EYFON (European Youth Forum Neumarkt), rector Andriy Krysovatyy and a WUNU delegation came to the city of Neumarkt (Styria, Germany) on a working visit. 14 students of West Ukrainian National University are taking part in the Neumarkt European Youth Forum.

Today, Andriy Krysovatyy, EYFON president Christoph Lytle, EYFON general director Christian Buchmann and Neumarkt mayor Josef Mayer signed a cooperation agreement between WUNU, the European Youth Forum Neumarkt and the City of Neumarkt.

Within the framework of the signed document, it was agreed that:
European Youth Forum Neumarkt organizes European youth meetings with the aim of establishing friendship and promoting mutual understanding between young people from different European countries. Europe is presented as the future and a common task for young people.

Students will work in workshops, supplemented by a leisure programme, which aims to introduce young people to the nature, culture and people of the Neumarkt region.

Young men and women from West Ukrainian National University have participated in the weekly programme in Neumarkt over several last years. In the future, WUNU students will be invited to the European Castle in Neumarkt to establish cooperation with Europeans.

West Ukrainian National University undertakes to select young people and organize trips to Austria. EYFON will invite a group of WUNU students annually, covering the cost of accommodation, meals and the proposed week-long programme.

The municipality of Neumarkt in Styria has become a refuge for many Ukrainians. It will continue to provide humanitarian assistance wherever possible. EYFON provides assistance to the "Maliatko" orphanage in Ternopil.

During the signing, a meeting was held with WUNU students who won a grant from the Austrian government and received the opportunity to do an internship in the country.

During the week, students will take part in the work of the European Youth Forum in Neukmart together with young people from Latvia, Italy, Poland and Georgia. The forum's programme aims to strengthen intercultural communication on issues of peace and freedom in the context of the future of Europe.

Today, on the territory of the castle where the forum is held, a celebration was organized, to which the residents of Neukmart - Austrians and immigrants from Ukraine - were invited. Austrian music was played by an instrumental folk quartet and a children's choir, as well as Ukrainian folk songs. Visitors were treated to soft drinks and traditional Ukrainian borscht.
