Courses from the Israeli Trauma Coalition
As part of the cooperation between West Ukrainian National University and the Israeli Trauma Coalition, we are conducting courses on working with people who suffered psychological injuries during the war for the second time.
Israel's experience in providing services in the field of mental health is especially relevant for our country now, because it is a country that is under constant enemy fire and knows how to effectively support its citizens. Israel has some of the best practices in the world for dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and the consequences of traumatic events.
Top representatives from the Israel Trauma Coalition will be sharing their protocols with the group of social workers starting their training today. It is extremely important that our specialists who will be trained are able to apply the acquired knowledge in practice and train their colleagues in order to help more people together. Therefore, each group has one representative from different territorial communities who, after training, will be able to share their experience with their friends.
The director of educational programs - Oleksandr Hershanov and Olga Shtaiman (Israel) introduced the work. They noted that ITC conducts various seminars to help Ukrainian colleagues apply the concept of post-traumatic reactions and properly provide care during the development of PTSD.
We believe that our communication will continue, because now it is very important to unite in the international psychological community in order to overcome today's challenges together.
