Discussion platform "Family mediation"
Having studied the experience of best European peacekeeping practices, basic mediator skills, the structure of mediation, questioning techniques, classification of mediation procedures, and other basic knowledge of mediation in the first semester, students of the Negotiation Psychology and Mediation programme are ready to acquire new knowledge and skills in specific areas of mediation.
On February 17, at 13:00, the discussion platform "Family Mediation" will be held as part of the academic course "Sectoral areas of mediation: family, work, business, management". The speaker - Gea van Klompenburg, an experienced mediator of the international MfN registry, a court mediator, KIES advisor, and professor at the Netherlands Business Academy.
It will not be the first time that the students of the programme take part in Ms. Gea's classes. The professor has been a co-trainer for the master classes of the Director of WUNU School of Negotiation and Mediation, Rector of the Netherlands Business Academy, Professor Jan van Zwieten.
The topics of the classes include the essence, stages, and benefits of family mediation, the difference between this method of conflict resolution and family therapy, the specifics of mediation in divorce, determining the child's place of residence, child support, additional child expenses, deprivation of parental rights, division of marital property, etc.
The speaker will talk about simulations, role-playing exercises, group work, and analysis of real professional cases.
