Year after full-scale invasion: role of Lithuania in ensuring Ukraine's victory

 Students of the Department of International Relations and Diplomacy of the Bohdan Havrylyshyn Institute of International Relations,majoring in International Relations, Public Communications and Regional Studies, together with the Head of the Department Oksana Tulai, Professor Ihor Datskiv and Associate Professor Serhii Hrodskyi visited the Honorary Consulate of Lithuania in Ternopil.


Honorary Consul Yaroslav Vizniak spoke about the opening of the institution, the peculiarities of the service, the functions of the consulate, as well as about bilateral relations between Ukraine and the Republic of Lithuania, which occupy a special place in the new military history of Europe.


With the assistance of Yaroslav Vizniak, a great deal of humanitarian and military aid is arriving in Ukraine from the Republic of Lithuania to different parts of Ukraine. The entire Republic of Lithuania has united in support of Ukraine. In total, since February 24, the Lithuanian government has provided Ukraine with military aid worth about 300 million euros, which is 0.7% of the country's GDP.


The Honorary Consul shared his impressions of participating in the round table "Challenges for the Economies of Ukraine and Lithuania in the Context of War - Let's Find Better Economic Solutions Together", which was initiated by the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Economic Development jointly with the Seimas Committee on Economy of the Republic of Lithuania and the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in Ukraine. The event was held on March 3 at the Lviv Palace of Arts.


The Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Lithuania in Ternopil and Ternopil Oblast, together with the Lviv Palace of Arts, welcomed a delegation of about 40 people from the Republic of Lithuania. The Ukrainian and Lithuanian parliamentarians, representatives of executive authorities, and entrepreneurs discussed the challenges for Ukraine's economy in the context of the war and the participation of the Republic of Lithuania in the reconstruction of our country. The discussions focused on the conditions and opportunities for cooperation and investment between the countries in the defense and security industry, logistics, rail and sea transportation, and the specifics of reforming the forestry sector and the functioning of the timber market in Ukraine.


At the end of the meeting, speaking with the students, the Honorary Consul emphasized that they had chosen the broad and most popular in the modern world specialty "International Relations, Public Communications and Regional Studies". Yaroslav Vizniak assured the young people that this choice is very promising, and the knowledge gained will be actively used in their future careers.
