Lecture "European private law"
Within the framework of the School of Polish and European Law, students and teachers of the Law Faculty of West Ukrainian National University attended a lecture on European Private Law, delivered by Professor Frederick Zoll, doc. hab., Professor of Civil Law at the Jagiellonian University and Professor of European Private Law, Comparative Law and Polish Private Law at the University of Osnabrück, former member of the Board of the European Law Institute.
Participants discussed the diversity of legal systems in modern Europe, the etymology of the development of private law in modern European countries, the stages and importance of harmonization of EU private law, challenges for Ukrainian private law on the way to harmonization with the EU Acquis communautaire, and the experience of the Republic of Poland as an EU member state in harmonizing national legislation.
During the lecture-discussion, the students had the opportunity to try themselves as lawyers, defending their legal positions.
