Małgorzata Gosiewska, Deputy Marshal of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland, visited WUNU
Today, within the framework of the project "Public Diplomacy Studies 5. 0", a foreign delegation visited West Ukrainian National University: Małgorzata Gosiewska, Deputy Marshal of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland, Marzena Cichorzewska, Advisor to the Deputy Marshal of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland, Grzegorz Petruchuk, Burgomaster of the Bialany District of Warsaw, Urszula Nowinowska, Advisor to the Commander-in-Chief of the Border Guard of the Republic of Poland, Patryk Utowka, employee of the Bialany District Government, and Karol Zielinski, expert of the Cabinet of Ministers' Office.
Addressing the guests, the Rector of West Ukrainian National University Andriy Krysovatyy said: "We are especially grateful for your willingness to visit our university. The entire Ukrainian people thank the Poles for their significant contribution to strengthening Ukraine's international standing, developing interstate cooperation, fruitful public activities and long-term support of Ukraine and our people in pursuing an independent domestic and foreign policy. Despite the fact that the war is still ongoing in Ukraine, we, Ukrainians, are already thinking about the post-war reconstruction of the state." The rector spoke about our higher education institution and international cooperation.
Later, the university administration held a working meeting with the Polish delegation. Oksana Desyatnyuk, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Research (International Relations), spoke about the development of higher education during a full-scale war and cooperation with Polish universities: "We are grateful to the Republic of Poland for its multidirectional support of Ukraine, because in the face of full-scale Russian aggression, Poland has become one of the most loyal allies of our country."
Małgorzata Gosiewska left an entry in the book of honorary guests of WUNU with her wishes for the academic community.
The students and guests met in the Academic Council Hall, where the Deputy Marshal of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland delivered a lecture "Trilateral Regional Alliance: Ukraine - Poland - Lithuania in the context of EU enlargement".
The young people talked about the Lublin Triangle, a trilateral regional alliance for political, economic, cultural and social cooperation between Lithuania, Poland and Ukraine, which was established in July 2020. The trilateral format is based on the traditions and historical ties of the three countries, and aims to strengthen dialogue between the countries, support Ukraine's integration into the European Union and NATO, and jointly counter Russian aggression in Ukraine.
Telling the young people about the cooperation between Poland and Ukraine, the speaker emphasized that Poland will continue to support our country: "We try to be advocates for Ukraine during every meeting, forum, conference. It is important to end this war quickly and realize that the future depends on each of us!"
The moderator of the meeting, Oksana Stemkovska, thanked everyone for the conversation, while Iryna Ivashchuk, Director of B. Havrylyshyn Education and Research Institute of International Relations, spoke in more detail about the project "Public Diplomacy Studies 5.0" under the certificate program "European Studies: Diplomacy, Politics, Law, Economics, Communications".
The constructive dialog and fruitful discussion inspired the boys and girls, as the ideas and values of European integration are important for Ukraine.
The delegation planted a tree on the Alley of Honorary Guests of WUNU to signify friendly relations and further cooperation.
