Ukrainian Negotiation Center at WUNU

 A Ukrainian Negotiation Center will be established on the basis of the School of Negotiation and Mediation at the Education and Research Institute of Communications of WUNU. The idea for the center came from colleagues from the British Negotiation Club as part of a signed cooperation agreement between West Ukrainian National University and The Negotiation Club.


Recently, a working meeting was held between Oksana Koval, Director of the Educational and Research Institute of Communications, Philip Brown (UK), founder and head of The Negotiation Club, Jan van Zwieten, Director of the School of Negotiation and Mediation of the ERIC, Rector of the Netherlands Business Academy, and Anastasia Martynevych, Coordinator of International Activities of ERIC.


The participants discussed the details of establishing the Ukrainian Negotiation Center as an open platform for practice and research of various models and styles of negotiation on the basis of the WUNU School of Negotiation and Mediation to help its participants improve their negotiation skills, including the ability to analyze complex situations, communicate effectively, manage conflicts and find creative solutions.


The Ukrainian Negotiation Center is open to students of the Master's programme in Negotiation Psychology and Mediation, other related programs, faculties, universities of Ukraine, teachers, business professionals and anyone interested in the practice of negotiation.


The lead trainer will be Philip Brown, a partner of the Education and Research Institute of Communications, an expert in leadership and mentoring in negotiations and in the development and implementation of a negotiator's roadmap. Mr. Brown is the author of the innovative practical toolkit "Negotiation Cards", which serves to model business negotiation situations and develop skills in this area.


The future development of the Ukrainian Negotiation Center includes the launch of international negotiation competitions among students and practitioners to model, evaluate, and hone the participants' negotiation skills in a competitive environment, the creation of a professional community of negotiators and negotiation experts, membership in a negotiation club, intervention and supervision meetings.
