The Second International Scientific and Practical Conference of Students and Young Scientists "International Economy in the Context of Climate Change: Pandemic and Post-Pandemic Period" was held at West Ukrainian National University.

Opening the scientific event, the Rector of West Ukrainian National University, Andriy Krysovatyy, said: "It is gratifying that today's conference will present the results of three international projects: The Jean Monnet Module "European Inclusive Circular Economy: Post-War and Post-Pandemic Module for Ukraine", a project with the participation of the OMNIS Religio Vorstandt Foundation (Germany) "35th Anniversary of the Chornobyl Disaster: Prerequisites for Sustainable Development", and the Jean Monnet Module "Regional Integration: European Benchmark in the Face of Global Fragmentation Challenges".

Russia's war against Ukraine, the crises of 2020, including COVID-19, have given rise to reflection and reset. This makes it possible to rethink economic models in order to overcome worsening inequality and exclusion. The growing awareness that the mainstream economic model is causing deepening divisions and damaging the planet, modern "slavery," the climate crisis, and the impact of data and technology on people are some of the biggest challenges of our time.

We recognize that new approaches to overcoming problems, new institutions, and new levels of cooperation are needed to address this complex issue. In any context, developing an inclusive economy requires recognizing the limitations of past approaches, sharing power, and restoring voice to people and places that have been excluded from previous systems.

When working in science, business, politics, and the social sphere, we must choose the activities in which our knowledge, experience, and personal perspective combine to create something new and useful. This will allow us to make a breakthrough that will leave a noticeable mark on people, the country, and the world".
