Course "Self-help and crisis assistance" for SES employees
The course "Self-Help and Crisis Assistance" for employees of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine has started at West Ukrainian National University. The training is conducted by trainers from the Israeli Trauma Coalition, who are world experts in the field of self-help and crisis psychological assistance.
The Israeli Trauma Coalition (ITC) is an association of non-governmental organizations that provide psychosocial support to people affected by various disasters. In Ukraine, the coalition has been active since 2014, providing consultations to representatives of the Ukrainian government and business.
During the classes, participants study the acute reaction to stress, the psychophysiology of stress; the basic self-regulation protocol "4 Elements"; functioning during acute crisis events; normalization and non-invalidation, rules of first psychological aid; the Triage protocol - filters for people in the midst of a crisis event; the general protocol of first psychological aid "Ya'alom"; individual protocol of first aid "Partner"; principles of self-regulation in case of prolonged stress; resilience in case of prolonged stress; principle of battery charging, individual adaptation code, use of BASIC PH model - simulation in small groups; rules of decompression, work with negative thoughts and "Shifter" technique.
