WEST UKRAINIAN NATIONAL UNIVERSITY

 Recently, undergraduate students majoring in Finance, and graduate students majoring in Finance and Public Finance, as well as teachers of the Yuriy Department of Finance of West Ukrainian National University visited the Department of Finance of the Ternopil Regional Military Administration.

The guarantors of the educational programmes: professors Zoriana Lobodina, Volodymyr Horyn, Tetiana Kizyma and advisors: professor Vasyl Demianyshyn, associate professors Svitlana Savchuk and Oksana Kvasnytsia discussed the prospects of improving the educational process in the educational programmes, as well as the implementation of educational and scientific initiatives with the specialists of the Department of Finance of Ternopil Regional Military Administration.

During the meeting, which was held in the format of a training course on "Public Finance Management in the Context of Counteracting Wartime Risks", Volodymyr Chepil, Director of the Finance Department of the Ternopil Regional Military Administration, introduced the young people to the modern requirements for a finance graduate, internship and employment opportunities in financial institutions.

Iryna Lyzko, Deputy Head of the Budget Department, told the students about the tasks, organisational structure, and functions of the Finance Department of the Ternopil RMA at all stages of the budget process. The participants had a lively discussion about the peculiarities and challenges of planning local budget projects for 2024, taking into account the challenges of wartime.

Discussing the problems of improving budgeting technologies, Vitalii Stadnik, Deputy Head of the Finance, introduced the students to modern software used by local financial authorities and key spending units, which provides for prompt access of stakeholders to the necessary information and the use of specialised tools for creating and analysing information.

Oksana Yarema, Deputy Head of the Finance Department, focused on the peculiarities of managing public financial resources of social and cultural institutions and ways to solve the problems of local budget expenditures in the current environment.

At the end of the meeting, the main problems and proposals were summarised and the vectors of further scientific work with the students of WUNU's educational programmes were outlined.
