WUNU joined the international project "Synergy of educational, scientific, managerial and industrial components for climate management and climate change prevention"
West Ukrainian National University has joined the implementation of the international project 619119-EPP-1-2020-1-NL-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP "Synergy of educational, scientific, managerial and industrial components for climate management and climate change prevention" / CLIMAN (Erasmus+ programme, Neighbourhood, Development and International Cooperation Instrument, Objective KA2: Higher Education Capacity Building).
The aim of the project is to help universities in Georgia and Ukraine become centres for the development of climate management research to accelerate integration into the global climate market and meet global climate regulation requirements by implementing best European practices in climate change mitigation, adaptation and consequence minimisation.
Project objectives:
- to update the existing master's programmes by developing an interdisciplinary training module "Climate Management";
- to establish climate management advisory centres at partner universities and ensure their sustainable development;
- to promote the development and strengthening of the institutional capacity of partner universities to develop recommendations for the industrial, transport, energy, tourism sectors and local authorities in the field of climate change prevention, adaptation and mitigation.
Areas of activity:
- analysis and study of European experience in implementing educational and practical activities in climate management;
- development of the training module "Climate Management" in partner universities;
- establishment of climate management advisory centres;
- implementation of the updated Master's programme in partner universities;
- quality management;
- dissemination and sustainability of project results;
- project management.
Expected outcomes:
- Master's programme updated with the developed module "Climate Management";
- qualified staff;
- climate management centres established in partner universities;
- a roadmap for cooperation between the industrial, transport, agricultural and tourism sectors and local authorities in implementing climate management policies;
- qualified climate managers.
Project duration: 15.11.2020 - 14.11.2024.
