KA220-HED - Cooperation partnerships in higher education SUDEM is a project that aims to transform disaster management across Europe. By creating a pan-European pool of well-trained disaster management experts for the future, SUDEM aims to improve resilience and efficiency in dealing with emergencies of all sizes.

This initiative focuses on enhancing disaster preparedness through advanced digitisation technologies, changing the way we respond to emergencies, reducing the number of disaster victims and creating a common pool of qualified European experts in this field.

The project participants include universities from different European countries, namely: Hochschule Offenburg (Germany), Information Technologies B.V. (Netherlands), Space Research and Technology Institute, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (Bulgaria), Lviv State University of Life Sciences (Ukraine).

SUDEM's multifaceted approach will bring significant benefits in a variety of areas. By launching a digital education platform that will host a range of courses, disaster management preparedness will improve. The open-source learning platform will democratise access to vital knowledge, promoting widespread impact among current and future experts. This will make a significant contribution to minimising disaster loss of life.

The project's central element, the digital educational platform, is not its only highlight. The foresight analysis and curriculum development of the SUDEM project is an intellectual cornerstone that ensures that approaches to disaster management are ahead of the curve. A feedback system integrated into the learning process will ensure a continuous improvement cycle, ensuring the highest quality and relevance of the courses offered.
