Opening of the Education and Research Centre for Social and Psychological Support and Resilience
West Ukrainian National University has opened an educational and research centre for social and psychological support and resilience with the support of the Israel Trauma Coalition and the Jewish Federation of North America.
The purpose of the centre is to build personal stress resilience in various fields of activity, and it will provide training programmes for social workers, educators, practical psychologists, police officers, employees of the State Emergency Service and others. The knowledge and skills gained will allow them to take care of their mental health by developing their own stress resistance, applying stress management techniques, relieving emotional stress and building psychological resilience in their professional activities.
Oleksandr Hershanov, Director of Training Programmes at the Israel Trauma Coalition, delivered a symbolic gift to the centre - a blessing amulet.
The centre will be headed by Oksana Shandruk.
The opening was also attended by the Rector of WUNU Oksana Desyatnyuk, representatives of the Israel Trauma Coalition (Alex Kagalsky and Natalia Makienko), the Main Department of the National Police of Ukraine in Ternopil Oblast, university faculty, psychologists, heads of territorial communities, social workers, psychologists of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and employees of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society.
Tetiana Sharhan sang an Israeli song in gratitude to the partners of WUNU, and Ilona Diadio performed the song "Invincible Ukraine".
After the opening of the centre, all those present viewed an exhibition of paintings created by the soldiers during their rehabilitation and photos of Ukraine's defenders.
Let the stress resilience centre be a symbol of hope, recovery and unity. We wish all those who seek help here to find inner strength, like-minded people and friends who are ready to walk this path with you. Together we can do more and support the lives of those who need it today.
