Students and staff of WUNU joined the initiative "World Cleanup Day"
Every year, the third Saturday of September is the World Cleanup Day. Students and staff of West Ukrainian National University joined the initiative.
15-16 September 2023 under the slogan "Let the sky be peaceful and Ukraine clean!" Ukraine has traditionally joined the World Cleanup Day along with 70 million participants in 191 countries.
The main goal is to create a culture of cleanliness, proper waste management and responsible consumption of resources among citizens, and to join forces for a greener future.
Leonid Bytsiura, acting head of the Department of Ecology and Heathcare at WUNU, said: "Everyone's participation is important, especially in the face of environmental crises and daily environmental destruction. We must work together to restore the environment, develop a responsible civil society that upholds social and environmental standards. It is very important to foster a culture of responsible waste management, take care of the environment and preserve natural resources.
The ecosystem is the basis of our life, and we all have to do our part to protect it. We are grateful to everyone who is actively involved in this process and contributes to environmental restoration. We invite everyone to join the largest environmental movement in the country and work together to keep Ukraine's nature cleaner!"
