WUNU students talk about their studies
Anastasiia Kryva, who is studying International Relations, Public Communications and Regional Studies, tells us about student life.
Anastasiia notes: "Thinking about a promising future, I try to make it come true... This year, I had the opportunity to try my hand twice at an eco-project in Croatia, funded by the Erasmus+ programme.
First of all, it was a big surprise for me to be invited to participate in the project to generate ideas for improving the Eco Project. For several days, we worked together with organisers from different countries on ideas that later turned into an unforgettable reality for us, the participants of the main project session, who came from Ukraine, France, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Every day, our mornings began with various eco-activities. We prepared presentations about environmental issues in our countries, demonstrated ecotypes, and participated in various quests to remove as much rubbish as possible from our campsite.
Alongside the environmental issues, we also had some sporting activities: we played volleyball, tennis, did eco-training in nature and enjoyed our holidays on the Adriatic coast, kayaking. Another pleasant moment and source of inspiration was the town where our campsite was located - the ancient centre of Croatia, the city of Savudrija. The area is located on the shores of the Adriatic Sea, with incredibly beautiful nature and inspiring energy.
During my studies, I gained theoretical and practical knowledge of environmental issues. In particular, I learnt how other countries deal with the problems of protecting the seas and oceans. I gained an understanding of the place of ecology in each country. I also got acquainted with the culture of other countries, improved my communication skills in a foreign language and was energised to implement the knowledge I had gained in my country.
I am sincerely grateful to my Department of International Relations and Diplomacy of the Bohdan Havrylyshyn Education and Research Institute of International Relations for this opportunity and for the knowledge I receive at West Ukrainian National University."
