WUNU delegation took part in the seminar "Digital Ukraine: Ensuring Academic Success in Times of Crisis"
A faculty delegation from the Bohdan Havrylyshyn Education and Research Institute of International Relations of West Ukrainian National University took part in the final seminar "Digital Ukraine: Ensuring Academic Success in Times of Crisis", organised by the Department of Information Management of the Faculty of Business and Economics of the Technical University of Dresden (Germany). The delegation included Vitalina Kurylyak, Mariia Lyzun, Ihor Lishchynskyi, Viktoriia Homotiuk, and Tetiana Buchynska.
The event summarised the activities of the Ukraine Digital II project, discussed the main results, analysed the barriers that arose during the implementation of the COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning) course, and adjusted the project strategy. The barriers were divided into 5 groups, which included motivational, organisational, didactic, technical and social aspects. In each section, decisions were made to improve the effectiveness of the programme. One section of the workshop was held in the form of a virtual conference using TriCAT software. This platform allowed us to bring together colleagues and students from WUNU who participated in the implementation of the Ukraine Digital II project from WUNU and TUD to exchange ideas and experiences.
The delegation also took part in the annual GeNeMe - 2023 conference "Communities in New Media". TUD colleagues presented an article with the results of an evaluation study conducted during the implementation of the Ukraine Digital II project. The results of the study showed practical recommendations for the design of the qualification of a new generation of e-tutors, which is planned for WUNU by the end of 2023.
Following the visit, further cooperation was agreed within the framework of the project "TUD Builds Bridges", "Digitalisation of the German-language International Economics programme at West Ukrainian National University with the support of the German Academic Exchange Service programme". It is planned to submit proposals for the continuation of the project within the framework of Ukraine Digital III and discuss the details of the final conference on the results of the Ukraine Digital II project in December 2023 in offline and online formats. The conference will be held at West Ukrainian National University. The purpose of the final conference is to disseminate the results of the Ukraine Digital I & II projects among Ukrainian higher education institutions to attract new partners for COIL courses.
