WEST UKRAINIAN NATIONAL UNIVERSITY

 A momentous event took place at West Ukrainian National University - a gala conference on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the B.D. Havrylyshyn Education and Research Institute of International Relations.

Over the years, knowledgeable scientists and dedicated teamworkers have made a significant contribution to the development of educational, scientific and international projects. The following prominent figures stood at the origins of the Institute: Oleksandr Ustenko, Yevhen Savelyev, Valeriy Dyachenko, and Anatoliy Tybin, who once headed the newly created Faculty of Foreign Economic Activity. Subsequently, their experience was adopted and continued by Liudmyla Havryliuk-Jensen, Liudmyla Faryna, Wilfred Trillenberg, Yurii Haida, Ihor Taranov and Iryna Ivashchuk.

In 1988, only 25 students were enrolled at the Faculty. The faculty consisted of 4 departments: the Department of Management, the Department of English for Foreign Economic Activity, the Department of German for Foreign Economic Activity and the Department of International Economics, Financial and Credit Relations and Marketing.

Congratulating the staff, Rector Oksana Desyatnyuk said: "Dear colleagues! Bohdan Havrylyshyn Education and Research Institute of International Relations celebrates its 35th anniversary. During this time, the staff, students and graduates have been building and preserving the glorious traditions of West Ukrainian National University.

Through creative, selfless work, the academic community educates an intellectual nation, and each employee makes every effort to establish Ukraine as a modern European state.

The team carries out active research activities, establishes international cooperation with foreign partners, organises strategic sessions, thematic events, meetings with prominent figures and stakeholders, and shapes the positive image of our higher education institution, creating an atmosphere that attracts talented young people from all over the country.
On this day, we warmly congratulate everyone who has linked their lives to the history of the university. We wish the close-knit faculty and student body health and well-being, unquenchable inspiration, tireless creative search, and the realisation of all plans. May the bubbling energy continue to encourage efficiency, bold ideas, and may the tireless hearts of the institute family beat in unison for the victory of Ukraine. Viva professors! Viva students!"

Taking into account the significant achievements, personal contribution to the development of national education, training of highly qualified specialists of West Ukrainian National University and professionalism, the Rector awarded the heads of departments, associate professors and employees of the institute with certificates and letters of commendation.

Alumni also support and rejoice in the success of the institute. Yurii Deyneka, Head of the Strategic City Development Department of the Ternopil City Council, was invited to deliver a short speech and said: "I am pleased that the Ternopil City Council employs graduates of the University and the Institute who are highly qualified specialists. I wish all students, teachers and employees success in their work, professional growth and new victories for the benefit of our Ukraine!"

WUNU artists provided musical entertainment, namely Anastasia Haleshchuk, Ilonna Diadi, Volodymyr Diachuk and Iryna Sheheda performed some wonderful songs.

Bohdan Havrylyshyn Education and Research Institute of International Relations has become a community of creative individuals and leaders who believe in the power of knowledge and intellect. We wish you new achievements, scientific victories, well-coordinated and effective work aimed at strengthening and prosperity of our university!
