European solidarity with Ukraine
On February 1, 2024, the European Commission published the collection "Building Hope: Europe's Solidarity with Ukraine", which highlights 15 successful Erasmus+ and European Solidarity Corps projects aimed at supporting those affected by the war in Ukraine.
This publication presents successful projects and highlights coordinators whose work has been recognised as inspirational.
The Erasmus+ project of our partners, the Vienna University College of Teacher Education, aimed at supporting Ukrainian children studying in Viennese schools, was also noted. Erasmus+ students were involved in assisting with communication between Austrian teachers and Ukrainian children and their parents.
Among them were Iryna Myshka and Kateryna Shum, students of the Business Communications and Translation programme at the B. Havrylyshyn Education and Research Institute of International Relations of WUNU.
They worked with the students, helped them learn German, and advised them on how to integrate into the German-speaking environment.
Iryna Myshka and Kateryna Shum had the opportunity to improve their social skills and communicate effectively. They contributed to the successful adaptation of Ukrainian children in Viennese schools by creating a safe environment for learning, support and development.
