Mediation in virtual reality
Students of the Education and Research Institute of Communications of the educational and professional programme "Negotiation Psychology and Mediation" visited the immersive multifunctional hub of West Ukrainian National University, where they met with Alberto Ortiz, a 3D designer and lecturer at the Department of Multimedia of the UCAM Catholic University of Murcia (Spain).
The students tested the equipment - innovative technologies - and learned how they can be used in the mediation process. Alberto shared the experience of the UCAM, focusing on the use of VR glasses and special software to create a virtual space that facilitates the mediation process. The students learnt how these innovative devices can expand the possibilities of international contactless interaction, allowing them to effectively conduct mediation sessions and negotiations in a virtual environment.
This meeting revealed new insights for the students and deepened their understanding of how technology can serve as a tool to facilitate cooperation and conflict resolution in the modern world of mediation and negotiation.
