"Find the Fraud" educational marathon as part of Global Money Week 2024!
As part of the events dedicated to the Global Money Week, an educational marathon "Find the Fraud" was held at West Ukrainian National University. The event was organised by the students of the Finance study programme and moderated by the lecturers of the S. I. Yuriy Department of Finance: Zoriana Lobodina, Volodymyr Horyn and Volodymyr Diachuk.
During the event, participants watched videos prepared by Anastasia Vydash and Violetta Mykhailovska. The students presented the results of a survey of citizens on ways to protect personal finances, invited everyone to join an interesting quiz and test their knowledge of financial literacy.
The video by Mykhailo Boliubash, which showed the main methods of financial fraud and the most high-profile cases, aroused considerable interest among the participants.
During the financial quiz organised by Demian Slyta and Vitalii Pilat, the participants of the educational marathon, divided into teams, answered questions about financial awareness of Ukrainians, the prevalence of financial fraud, and the need for competent management of their own finances. The highlight of the educational marathon was a financial exercise conducted by Anastasia Vydash and Violetta Mykhailovska.
By the end of the marathon, the participants learnt the key rules of financial fraud prevention: financial fraudsters are always looking for easy ways to get hold of your money, so be careful and don't look for "easy" money; the basic rule of personal finance protection is to never disclose your personal or financial data to unknown persons; remember that your finances are your responsibility; always check information and act prudently.
