International conference "Challenges of modern economy development"
The Yerevan Education and Research Institute of West Ukrainian National University brought together educators, scientists, and researchers for the International Conference "Challenges of Modern Economy Development".
Rector of WUNU Oksana Desyatnyuk, welcoming partners and colleagues, said: "The issues to be discussed today are of utmost urgency, as the modern economic system faces new challenges with each passing day, so it is crucial that we are able to anticipate them, adapt to them and find ways to solve them. We understand that in order to tackle complex economic problems, it is necessary to develop new approaches for overcoming them, create new institutions and strengthen cooperation; each of us has a role to play in this process. Our combined efforts will determine the future of the global economy.
Working in science, business, politics, and the social sector, we must pursue the initiatives where our knowledge and experience can be combined to create new and useful results. This will allow us to make breakthroughs that will benefit individuals, states, and the global community. I am convinced that during the conference we will hear interesting proposals and ideas and will be able to put many of them into practice."
In his speech, Charge d'Affaires of Ukraine to the Republic of Armenia Valerii Liubach said: "We are seeing that the economic growth of Ukraine and Armenia is interconnected and depends on close cooperation between the countries. Joint initiatives in science, business and culture can contribute to the development of both countries, in particular through the exchange of experience and knowledge!"
Continuing the work, the participants heard presentations on current issues of economic development; digitalisation of business in Armenia; small and medium-sized enterprises in Armenia; assessment of the long-term relationship between inflation and economic growth for Armenia; causes of the shadow economy and ways to overcome it; bankruptcy risks; problems of public debt management in Armenia; prospects for the development of adventure tourism in Armenia; the Armenian national programme; the impact of labour migration on the economy of Armenia; and other topics.
The conference was also attended by Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Research Viktor Ostroverkhov, Vice-Rector for Research Mykola Dyvak, and Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Research (International Activities) Uliana Koruts.
Addressing the participants, the Director of the YERI WUNU, Saak Gudratyan, said: "The scientific conference is a platform for the exchange of thoughts and ideas, which will help to strengthen ties and develop strategies for joint action between scientists, institutions and organisations from different countries."
