Within the framework of the TURBO-ERASMUS-EDU-2023-CBHE project "The Universities' Reaction to Big Obstructions: Building resilient higher education to respond and manage societal crises", Professor of the Department of Economics and Economic Theory Oleksandr Dluhopolskyi, Associate Professor of the Department of Foreign Languages and Information and Communication Technologies Iryna Humovska, Associate Professor of the Department of Management, Public Administration and Personnel Oleksandra Ovsianiuk-Berdadina, and Associate Professor of the Department of Administrative Law and Judiciary Oksana Shevchuk took part in the week-long training "Capacity building and competence improving for Ukrainian universities" on 12-17 May 2024.

The meetings were held at the Kozminski University (Warsaw, Poland) and brought together TURBO project partners from different higher education institutions in Ukraine. The trainers from NORD University, Professor Anatolii Burmistrov and Professor Veronika Vakulenko, introduced the participants to modern approaches of using strategic management tools for universities to adapt to the requirements of today and mitigate potential crises in the future. Researchers from the Kozminski University shared their experience in international accreditation, internationalisation of educational and research activities, and human resources management tools to enhance the professional activities of the university's teaching staff. The Polish practitioners involved in the training together with the participants developed effective approaches to strengthening cooperation with various groups of university stakeholders. At the Gallup workshop, the participants learnt to use the latest approaches to building teams, taking into account the psychological characteristics of their members.

The culmination of the training cycle was the presentation by the representatives of West Ukrainian National University of their own project "How to implement gained knowledge", which detailed their vision of the practical application of the latest management approaches to expand the scientific and international activities of WUNU in the European educational space.
