National seminar "Experience of implementing climate management training in the educational and professional programme of higher education and the performance of climate management centres"
Within the framework of the project 619119-EPP-1-2020-1-NL-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP CLIMAN (Erasmus+ Programme), the National Seminar "Experience of implementing climate management training in the educational and professional programme of higher education and the performance of climate management centres" was held at Lviv Polytechnic National University.
The seminar was attended by the CLIMAN project implementers: Olena Borysiak, Director of the Education and Research Centre for Innovative Development and Training; Uliana Tkach, Deputy Director of the Education and Research Institute of Innovation, Nature Management and Infrastructure; and Antin Shuvar, Head of the Department of Agribiotechnology.
The aim of the seminar is to share experience among the Ukrainian project partners on the implementation of climate management training in the educational and professional programme at the second (master's) level of higher education and the organisation of climate management centres.
During the seminar, the participants discussed climate management research in the European Union and Ukraine with experts, visited the municipal organic waste composting station of the Green City Municipal Utility Company and the construction site of a mechanical and biological complex for the handling and processing of solid waste in Lviv.
The Ukrainian project partners from Lviv Polytechnic National University, KROK University, Kharkiv National Automobile and Highway University, and West Ukrainian National University presented the best practices of implementing climate management programmes and operating climate management centres in higher education institutions.
Olena Borysiak, Uliana Tkach and Antin Shuvar presented the module "Climate Management", which consists of the disciplines "Strategic Climate Management in Agriculture", "Environmental Safety in Agriculture", "Adaptive Farming Technologies in the Context of Climate Change", "Energy Plant Resources" and introduced the activities implemented at the Climate Management Centre at the Department of Agricultural Biotechnology of the ERIINMI of WUNU.
The aim of the project 619119-EPP-1-2020-1-NL-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP CLIMAN is to help universities in Georgia and Ukraine become centres of excellence in climate management research to accelerate integration into the global climate market and implement global climate regulation requirements by implementing best European practices in climate change prevention, adaptation, and mitigation.
