WUNU student received a grade 3 diploma at the XI International Student Research Competition "Credit and Banking System: History, Present and Prospects for Development"

 Mykola Markiv, a 1st year master's student majoring in Finance, Banking, Insurance and Stock Market at the Faculty of Finance and Accounting of West Ukrainian National University, received a grade 3 diploma at the XI International Student Research Competition "Credit and Banking System: History, Present and Prospects for Development".


The event was organised by the Department of Banking and Insurance of the Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman.


The competition was held in two stages. Stage I - submission and review of research papers (January-April 2024). The research papers of the winners of the first stage of the competition were recommended by the jury for participation in the second stage.


The second stage of the competition took place on 6 June 2024 in the format of an online conference. Nineteen master's and bachelor's degree students from thirteen Ukrainian higher education institutions competed in the final round. The jury evaluated the fifteen best presentations.


The online conference was moderated by the Head of the Department, Professor Liudmyla Prymostka. The jury consisted of industry professionals, representatives of higher education institutions and employers: Olha Bilai, Executive Director of the Deposit Guarantee Fund, and Yurii Prozorov, President of the Ukrainian Society of Financial Analysts. They carefully evaluated the contestants based on six criteria, asked questions and participated in discussions. Professor Andrii Nikitin acted as chairman of the jury.


The topics of the papers were very diverse. The topic of Mykola Markiv's research was "Operation of the Ukrainian banking system in the context of war", which was conducted with the assistance of his supervisor, Yaroslav Tchaikovskyi, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor of the Department of Financial Technologies and Banking.
