Third International Scientific and Practical Conference of Students and Young Scientists "International Economy in the Context of Climate Change: Global Challenges"

 The Department of International Economics of the Bohdan Havrylyshyn Education and Research Institute of International Relations of WUNU hosted the Third International Scientific and Practical Conference of Students and Young Scientists "International Economy in the Context of Climate Change: Global Challenges".


The event was opened by the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Research (International Relations) Uliana Koruts. Maksym Zhyvko, Acting Director of the Bohdan Havrylyshyn Institute of International Relations, also addressed the audience with warm greetings. The event was moderated by the Head of the Department of International Economics, Doctor of Economics, Professor Iryna Zvarych.


The first speaker of the conference was Iryna Ivashchuk, Professor of WUNU, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Senegal in Ukraine, who presented her report on Global Megatrends and their Impact on Economic Diplomacy. Having just returned from Africa, Iryna Ivashchuk knew precisely how to answer all the questions that arose during the discussion.


Wandela Onyongo Dickson, University of Nairobi (Kenya), continued the conference with a presentation on Sovereign Debt and Environmental Risk within the Context of Africa. It is worth noting that a memorandum of cooperation has been signed between West Ukrainian University and the University of Nairobi.


The audience was particularly interested in the presentation by Eckhard Freyer, Deputy Director of the OMNIS Religio Vorstandt Foundation, Germany, a long-term partner of the Department of International Economics. Also, for the first time, Kakul Agha (Associate Professor of Skyline University College, United Arab Emirates) took part in the events of the Department of International Economics with a speech on CSR Initiatives in UAE: Focus on Inclusion and Sustainability.


The report of student Yelyzaveta Konashevych from Karazin Kharkiv National University on The Role of Nuclear Fuel in Ensuring Energy Supply Security was extremely interesting and informative. The final offline presentations were made by Nadiia Nahirna, a postgraduate student of the Department, on Problems of Agricultural Exports of Ukraine in the Time of War and Maksym Kuryliak, a senior lecturer at the Department of International Economics, iOS developer at Indivi, on The IT Sector in the Context of the Development of the Ukrainian Economy.


Various students, postgraduates, and faculty were also in attetndance.
