Students of the Department of International Relations and Diplomacy about studying under an international academic mobility programme
Anastasiia Kryva, a student of the International Relations, Public Communications and Regional Studies study programme (group MVSK-21), shares her impressions of her studies:
"Life is a series of challenges. Its twists and turns, trials and tribulations are what makes it interesting. These words aptly describe my experience as an international exchange student studying Political Science at the University of Gdansk during the summer semester. It enriched my professional and personal range of skills and knowledge, opened new vectors of development and broadened my horizons.
The university organises and coordinates various events to promote active student life. Welcome Days were organised before the studies: firstly, we got acquainted with the academic buildings, learned information about courses, teachers, living in Poland and student assistance centres. The ESN and ISA made significant contributions to a number of events this year. With their support, the university organised the Adaptation Camp, which gave students the opportunity to learn more about the local culture and have fun in the open air.
KayaKamp provided unforgettable water adventures, allowing students to enjoy the beauty of local rivers and lakes and get a lot of positive emotions. Interactive evenings, featuring interesting workshops, discussions and games, contributed to the creative development and active communication of students on various topics. Daily interactions in English and exposure to Polish significantly improved my language skills, which is important for my future career in an international environment.
During the semester, leading professors and researchers in international relations organised seminars and conferences with political experts. A significant element of these meetings was the work on projects in international teams, where each participant acted as a specialist, sharing knowledge and perspectives from their own country.
Interactive classes were another important element of my studies at the University of Gdańsk. We often held sessions where we modelled the work of political institutions and solved topical international issues. Such an approach gave me the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in practice.
Looking back on my semester studies at the University of Gdansk, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the Department of International Relations and Diplomacy of the Bohdan Havrylyshyn Education and Research Institute of International Relations of West Ukrainian National University for this unique experience that has become an invaluable asset to my life and career.
During this summer semester of the international exchange, I have not only gained new knowledge and skills in the field of political science, but also discovered endless opportunities for personal growth. The high-quality education, innovative teaching methods and support from the teaching staff inspired me to further develop and reach new heights in my professional development. Unforgettable memories of cultural events, social evenings and learning in a student community will always remain in my heart as the best moments of my academic journey.
Thank you for this unique experience, which transformed my life and future career."
