The First International Financial Forum "Modern Finance: Global Challenges and Current Trends" has started at West Ukrainian National University.

The scientific event brought together a wide range of Ukrainian and foreign experts, government officials, representatives of the academic community, and more than a hundred participants from Ukraine and many other countries: Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, Austria, Latvia, the United Kingdom and Switzerland. Involvement of foreign experts helps to broaden our horizons and discuss issues from different perspectives.

The forum was organised by the S. I. Yuriy Department of Finance of WUNU in cooperation with the Academy of Financial Management of the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine and the Ukrainian-American Association of College Educators.

The main premise of the First International Financial Forum is that it is impossible to achieve financial stability and perfect balance of financial instruments in society.

Therefore, the task of the scientific community and practitioners is to continually search for scientific substantiation of new dimensions for the development of the financial system in order to ensure safe and efficient use of finance as an attribute of state-building at every stage of socio-economic development.

The main goal and mission of the First International Financial Forum is to share the experience and opinions of representatives of the scientific community and practitioners in addressing the current problems of transforming the financial space in the face of global challenges and threats.

"The best European practices are a benchmark for Ukraine to further develop and improve the system of internal state financial control and the Public Finance Management Strategy in general," said Denys Uliutin, First Deputy Minister of Finance of Ukraine, who joined the dialogue.

The First International Financial Forum continued with the discussion platforms. The first platform focused on the Challenges and Threats to Public Finance in Ukraine. The second discussion platform revolved around Business Finance and the Asymmetries of Modern Financial Technologies.

The reports of the economists were extremely interesting and covered a wide range of issues. They discussed innovative vectors of development of financial science and practice, modern security and globalisation trends in financial policy in Ukraine and abroad, challenges caused by the full-scale invasion and granting Ukraine the status of a candidate for membership in the European Union.
