Library camp at the L. Kanischenko Library of West Ukrainian National University
In June, children aged 6 to 12 years old spent an exciting holiday in the L. Kanishchenko Library of West Ukrainian National University with fun and pleasure. Every day they enjoyed amazing experiences, gained new knowledge, played games and had lots of adventures! The holiday programme allowed each child to become more confident, learn to interact in a team, unleash their creativity, acquire leadership skills, and find new friends.
The programme of the library camp balanced quizzes, workshops, intellectual games, creative classes, quests and active game techniques. The L. Kanischenko Library of WUNU became a venue for self-improvement of each participant with the support of an experienced team of organisers.
The children really liked the different themes of the workshops, namely: creating amulets for the Defenders (motanka dolls, cranes, patriotic bracelets, angels); art therapy (drawing with coffee, paints, ear sticks, lipstick, toothbrushes, leaves and flowers); felting wool (creating a woolen toy); collage applications made of coloured paper, and blaxography.
The children met with Vasyl Skochylo, a Ukrainian soldier who has been defending our homeland from the enemy since 2014, who gave them the opportunity to put on a bulletproof vest and feel like a warrior for a few minutes. As a sign of gratitude, the children presented their drawings to the Defender.
Every day was special, interesting and eventful.
We hope that the children will remember the library camp for a long time to come and look forward to new meetings.
