New milestones in cooperation between the Education and Research Institute of Communications and Italian experts
Promising areas of development in the field of negotiation and mediation require a high-quality practice-oriented and research-based foundation. Joining forces with Italian experts will be extremely interesting and effective in this context.
Recently, Oksana Koval, Director of the Education and Research Institute of Communications of West Ukrainian National University, met with Angelo Monoriti, Professor of the Luiss Guido Carli University of Rome (Italy). Anastasiia Martynevych, Coordinator of International Activities of the Institute, joined the conversation.
Prof Monoriti is a recognised expert in negotiation and dispute resolution in civil and commercial matters. He advises and supports leading Italian and foreign companies operating in various business sectors, such as the automotive industry, money transfers, luxury goods and fashion, media and technology, and conducts training sessions and advanced courses on negotiation and contracting. He is the author of numerous articles and commentaries on negotiation and mediation. Most recently, he has also been leading the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and Negotiation SPACE clinics at the Luiss University.
It was an extremely pleasant surprise to receive his textbook on negotiation and mediation ‘NegotiAction’ as a gift for the library of the Institute, as well as an agreement to facilitate the publication of this textbook in Ukrainian for students of the educational programme ‘Psychology of Negotiation and Mediation’, which is being implemented at West Ukrainian National University.
It is gratifying that both parties are united by membership in the International Negotiation Training and Research Association (INTRA). Therefore, it was agreed to exchange experience in the field of intercultural communication, negotiation and mediation, implement joint projects, cooperate in grant programmes, and hold student tournaments, competitions, and exchanges.
The results of the discussions allow us to lay the foundation for future cooperation between the educational institutions, so the parties are preparing documents for signing an agreement between the universities.
The meeting with Professor Angelo Monoriti is an important step for the development of the academic and practical field of communications, negotiation and mediation at West Ukrainian National University, as well as an opportunity to enrich the curriculum with new approaches and knowledge.
