Knowledge Day at West Ukrainian National University!
For the third year in a row, Ukrainian educators are celebrating September 1 in the midst of war. But the young men and women are full of faith and enthusiasm as they look forward to their studies, interesting meetings and student life. Parents' eyes glisten with tears as this stage in their lives means letting their daughters and sons fly the nest.
The celebrations were led by the Rector of West Ukrainian National University Oksana Desyatnyuk, the Chairman of the Academic Council Andriy Krysovatyy, the First Deputy Chairman of the Ternopil Regional Council, WUNU graduate Volodymyr Bolieshchuk, the Head of the Ternopil District Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Ternopil Region Colonel Serhiy Osadtsia, the Secretary of the Ternopil Diocese of the OCU Archpriest Oleksiy Holovatskyi, vice-rectors, deans of faculties, directors of institutes, heads of departments and teachers.
In keeping with tradition, the event began with the Ukrainian national anthem and a minute's silence in honour of the fallen soldiers, reflecting the importance of appreciating the value of every day.
'Students are the future of the nation' was the slogan of this year's Knowledge Day, and indeed there is truth in these words!
Dear students! Today you have opened the door to the vast world of knowledge, opportunities and personal growth, where your motivation and perseverance will be the key to achievement. We wish your student journey to be rich and unforgettable!
