The second day of I-WEEK 2024
The Sixth International Week continues at West Ukrainian National University
The second day of I-WEEK 2024 began with a meeting with Krzysztof J. Filipiak, Rector of Maria Sklodowska-Curie Medical College in Warsaw, who prepared a report entitled ‘Post-COVID Problems in Europe and All Over the World: A Modern Medicine Perspective’.
The participants of the meeting focused on current healthcare issues that have arisen in the world after the COVID-19 pandemic, medical consequences and global challenges, and new approaches in medicine.
The panel discussion ‘Educational Innovations in the European and National Social and Humanitarian Space’, which was held at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities of WUNU, was extremely interesting. The faculty and students discussed the emergence of new approaches to education, focused on the importance of digitalisation of education and the adaptation of curricula to the requirements of today.
Dr. hab. Marek Rębież, a professor at the University of Silesia in Katowice (Poland), spoke about the patriotic spirit of Ukrainian educators. In his speech, he emphasised the incredible heroism of Ukrainians who, despite the difficult times of war, continue to work and teach students.
I-WEEK participants also took part in the Third International Discussion Platform ‘International Support in Time of War as a Factor of Victory: Political, Economic, Humanitarian, Educational and Scientific Dimensions of Partnership’. Colleagues from Poland, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Germany, Spain, Slovakia and Malta joined the discussion.
The World Café ‘Internationalisation at Home & Internal Mobility (Best Practices and Experience of Departments)’ brought together academics from WUNU, foreign partners, and students of the higher education institution to discuss ideas on how to implement international practices in the educational process in the field of internationalisation.
The schedule of events on the second day of the International Week was very busy. The students were especially interested in the event where they met with Orysia Birkkjaer, Capability Development Manager at Vectra Fertin Pharma, Human Resources and Culture Department (Denmark), who gave a lecture on ‘Develop a Growth Mindset for Your Future Career Growth’.
The International Week also included a working meeting between Rector Oksana Desyatnyuk and Head of Audit at Deloitte & Touche Ukrainian Services Company Ihor Katsiubii.
The colleagues agreed to expand the scope of educational and scientific projects, to provide students with on-the-job training, to conduct joint fundamental and applied research, to enhance professional training, to provide retraining, internships, specialisation and advanced training for teachers of West Ukrainian National University.
The second day of the International Week continued with a topical panel discussion with interactive sessions on Finance and Accounting 4.0: Innovations and Global Cooperation in the Modern World.
The report ‘Digital Transformation in Azerbaijan’ on the topic of the Erasmus+ project ‘Cross-domain competences for healthy and safe work in the 21st century (WORK4CE)’ aroused great interest. The speaker was Rasim Abdullayev, PhD candidate, Deputy Head of the Department
of Project management, Head of the Innovation and Incubation Department, Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction.
The inspiration session 2.0 ‘All about mobility and even more’ for WUNU students was informative and educational. Young people had the opportunity to learn about international education and exchange programmes. Erasmus+ participants shared their unique experience of studying abroad and talked about their personal achievements.
The day ended with a presentation of the Social Economy Ukraine National Platform.
Petro Darmoris, Director of Social Economy Ukraine, focused on the transformational potential of the social economy in the process of rebuilding and modernising Ukraine, the synergy of international experience and partnership.
It is gratifying that the Sixth International Week is an immense exchange of ideas and developments, in-depth discussions about the current problems of our time, a space for creativity, innovation and cooperation!
