Advanced training courses for civil servants on negotiation and mediation
Civil servants from various institutions and agencies of Ukraine recently had the opportunity to improve their knowledge and develop skills in negotiation and mediation during a short-term training course at West Ukrainian National University.
The program focused on negotiation as a distinct form of communication, exploring various techniques and strategies. It delved into the underlying factors that contribute to conflict, the stages of its evolution, and the role of mediation in resolving disputes. Participants gained insights into the nuances of mediation in specific contexts and learned to navigate the challenges of professional communication, including the use of persuasion and influence. The course was particularly engaging due to its emphasis on practical skills development in negotiation and mediation.
The program was developed using cutting-edge European and global educational technologies. Classes were conducted in an engaging, discussion-based format, incorporating practical exercises aligned with David Kolb's experiential learning methods (30x70). This approach is designed to facilitate effective adult learning, aligning with the principles of andragogy.
A total of 42 participants from the Ternopil, Lviv, Kyiv, Odesa, Chernihiv, and Donetsk regions attended the course. All participants demonstrated active engagement and provided positive feedback.
We are pleased to announce the successful implementation of a high-level program on negotiations and mediation, which is of great importance in the current context of Russia's full-scale war against Ukraine. This program was made possible through the collaboration of West Ukrainian National University and our reliable foreign partners from Switzerland and the Netherlands.
