Meeting with representatives of Barristers Attorneys at Law
At the invitation of the Department of Criminal Law and Procedure, a guest lecture was delivered by the partner of Barristers Attorneys at Law, attorney Oleksandr Shadrin and attorney Iryna Kuzina (Kyiv).
The discussion was also attended by lawyer Pavlo Dziuba (Ternopil) and lecturer of the Department of Criminal Law and Procedure Nazar Hdanskyi.
The lecture covered the unique successful experience of attorney Oleksandr Shadrin in the Constitutional Court of Ukraine in the context of criminal justice. The lecturers focused on the practical aspects of appealing to the Constitutional Court of Ukraine, which are rarely discussed in the academic literature: the peculiarities of filing and the requirements for a constitutional complaint.
To recap, it was on the basis of a constitutional complaint filed by lawyer Oleksandr Shadrin that the Constitutional Court of Ukraine declared part six of Article 615 of the CPC of Ukraine regarding the extension of the term of detention under martial law unconstitutional.
