Third International Scientific and Practical Conference ‘Psychosocial Resources of Personal and Social Development in the Age of Globalisation’
On the eve of the Day of Social Worker of Ukraine, the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities of West Ukrainian National University hosted the Third International Scientific and Practical Conference ‘Psychosocial Resources of Personal and Social Development in the Age of Globalisation’, organised by the Department of Psychology and Social Work. The conference was attended by more than 200 participants, representatives of 22 leading foreign universities from 13 countries (USA, Canada, Germany, Italy, Israel, Slovak Republic, Czech Republic, Lithuania, Poland, Turkey, Thailand, Ukraine).
A distinctive feature of this year's conference is the strong representation of key sectors of the state economy and politics in the person of the heads of regional offices and branches. The conference was also attended by delegates from leading national research organisations and institutions.
The international conference was opened by the Rector of West Ukrainian National University Oksana Desyatnyuk. The conference participants heard sincere welcoming words and concrete proposals on topical issues of resource science from the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Professor Oksana Homotiuk Foreign partners also imparted their best wishes to conference attendees.
The presence of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and representatives of law enforcement agencies at the conference made it possible to crystallise the pressing problems of the current state of Ukrainian society.
Notably, many of the speakers were from around the world, including former graduates of the department who are now lobbying for Ukraine's interests and provide a clear indication of the high professionalism of Ukrainians.
The content focus of the International Conference was on the work of five relevant scientific platforms: 1) philosophical, methodological, cultural and historical discourses of resource science as an innovative field; 2) history and culture as a resource for social creation; 3) psycho-spiritual resources of an individual, group, society; 4) socio-cultural resources as a factor of personal growth and social creation; 5) resource management in the socio-humanitarian sphere of modern society.
Based on the results of the scientific discourse, the organising committee of the International Scientific and Practical Conference ‘Psychosocial Resources of Personal and Social Development in the Age of Globalisation’ selected the best Ukrainian and cross-border research papers to be published in the form of a proceedings. We hope that each participant of the conference found interesting issues in resource science and discovered pressing matters of today's dynamic multi-problematic world.
