Knowledge is more valuable when it is shared
On the fourth of November 2024, students majoring in Public Finance and members of the Finance and Accounting English Club took part in an English-language guest interactive lecture with international participation on The Role of Cross-Functional Knowledge Sharing in the Business Process Analysis, by Marta Krajewska-Beentjes, PhD, leading business analyst at SOS Childrens' Villages International. This event was held in the video conference room (room 11103), equipped with the support of the Erasmus+ Project ‘WORK4CE: Cross-domain competences for healthy and safe work in the 21st century’.
The lecturer emphasised the importance of cross-functional knowledge sharing and gave examples from her own experience, demonstrating how cooperation between departments (e.g. marketing, finance, IT and production) helps to improve business processes and achieve strategic goals. She emphasised that active knowledge sharing between teams allows for quick identification of problems, optimisation of resources and innovation.
Ms Marta paid special attention to the methods and tools that help to implement effective knowledge sharing. The lecturer emphasised the importance of holding regular meetings to discuss projects and using digital platforms to store and share information.
The lively and relaxed atmosphere of the lecture, which prompted a vigorous discussion and raised a number of interesting questions from the students, was a great opportunity for the participants to understand how cross-functional knowledge sharing contributes to improving business process analytics, which in turn helps them become more adaptable and competitive in today's market.
