The Ukrainian-Polish monograph ‘Communication as a factor of transparency of social interaction: psychological, historical, legal, economic and political dimensions. New realities in the conditions of war and in the post-war perspective' edited by Dr Jacek Mrozek, Professor at the University of Warmia and Mazury (Poland), Oksana Koval, Director of the Education and Research Centre for Communications, Associate Professor of Psychology and Social Work at West Ukrainian National University (Ukraine), and Marcin Radzilowicz, Director of the Branch of the University of Warmia and Mazury in Ełk (Poland).

The book was reviewed by Jan van Zwieten, Rector of the Netherlands Business Academy, Professor Emeritus of WUNU, Anatoliy Vykhrushch, Professor of the I. Horbachevsky Ternopil National Medical University, and Vitaliy Panko, Director of the Ukrainian Research Centre for Practical Psychology and Social Work of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine.

The monograph covers various aspects of interaction between people, society and institutions, so it provides a unique insight into the views of the world's leading experts and scholars from different countries. Amidst the challenges of today's world, this book is a boost for new research and ideas on communication strategies and negotiation tactics aimed at promoting transparency in society.

In her foreword to the monograph, Professor Oksana Desyatnyuk, Rector of West Ukrainian National University, said: ‘The resolution of global and local conflicts, the preservation of peace and the development of cooperation at all levels depend on how effectively we negotiate. It has become crucial to understand communication processes, because words are a weapon that must be used wisely. In the context of global transformations and rising political and economic tensions, communication remains one of the few tools that can reduce the risk of conflict escalation. A deep understanding of communication and negotiation processes allows us to find new avenues for dialogue, resolve conflicts without the use of force, and build a world based on cooperation and mutual understanding."

The book presents diverse adapted and constructively reviewed materials of the participants of the third International Scientific and Practical Conference ‘Communication as a Factor of Transparency of Social Interaction: Psychological, Historical, Legal, Economic and Political Dimensions’, organised by the Education and Research Institute of Communications of WUNU together with the National Mediation and Reconciliation Service and the National Association of Mediators of Ukraine.

Among the co-organisers of the conference: University of Warmia and Mazury (Poland), Netherlands Business Academy (Netherlands), Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University (Faculty of Law and Social Sciences, Georgia), Assertive Group (Switzerland), Oxford University, Saïd Business School (UK), Shepherd University (USA), Arizona State University (USA), Global Communications Centre (USA), Pontifical Gregorian University (Italy), Catholic University of San Antonio (Spain), Turiba University (Latvia), Matej Bel University (Slovakia), International Mediation Association (Netherlands), Negotiations Club (UK), Georgian Mediators Association (Georgia), International Negotiation Training and Research Association INTRA. The conference served as an open platform for public debate and professional discussions to integrate the intellectual potential of not only Ukrainian universities, but also scholars and practitioners from 83 universities and institutions from 25 countries.

The organisers hope to continue the good tradition of holding various international meetings, discussion platforms, seminars and conferences, expanding the boundaries of cooperation with experienced Ukrainian and international experts in the field of negotiations, mediation and a culture of tolerant interaction by deepening cooperation with Ukrainian and international higher education institutions, public authorities and NGOs.
