Let's shape financial science together!
At a regular meeting of the Financial Education student research club of the Yuriy Department of Finance, its participants learnt to ‘shape’ the financial science. They were assisted by the club's coordinators Volodymyr Horyn, Viktoriia Bulavynets, Svitlana Koval and Oksana Kvasnytsia.
In a thrilling seminar, Doctor of Economics, Professor Volodymyr Horyn, captivated the audience as he delved into the exhilarating world of financial science. "Shaping science is not just about studying or recounting already known facts," he explained. "It's about actively creating, expanding and rethinking them. It's a complex process of generating new ideas, discoveries, concepts and theories that requires creativity, analytical thinking and the application of scientific approaches and methods." The speaker took the students on an exhilarating cognitive journey into the world of science, during which he presented the basics of scientific methodology in an interesting and accessible way.The students learnt about the stages of scientific research, the selection of information sources, and the types of scientific papers.
In his presentation, Volodymyr Horyn focused on a step-by-step algorithm for writing abstracts, which are a type of scientific publication, and noted that they enable the author to present their research findings at national and international conferences.
As a result, the participants expressed a desire to try their hand at putting the newly acquired knowledge into practice, as they were interested in the prospect of participating in a creative scientific process. We hope that in the future they will join the cohort of scientists who create and develop financial science.
