The staff of the Department of International Tourism and Hospitality Business of West Ukrainian National University invites you to join a series of scientific and analytical lectures by Professor, Rector of the Maria Skłodowska-Curie Medical University (Warsaw, Poland), Dr. hab. n. med. Krzysztof J. Filipiak on the topic ‘Palenie? Wapowanie? Podgrzewanie? Żucie? Jakie twarze ma dzisiaj ‘palenie papierosów’?’.
Professor Krzysztof Filipiak is a renowned specialist in cardiology, hypertension and cardiovascular pharmacotherapy, author of numerous scientific papers on the effects of nicotine on the human body.
The lecture will cover the evolution of forms of nicotine consumption: from traditional smoking to modern alternatives (vaping, heating, chewing tobacco); the truth and the most common myths about one of the so-called ‘safe and environmentally friendly’ gadgets for smokers - vaping; the consequences of nicotine addiction for public health in different smoking styles and consumption and, accordingly, scientific evidence, advice, and reasonable conclusions that all types of cigarettes and vapes are equally harmful.
