STEM-WEEK at WUNU. International economy and technology: new horizons of global analysis
This year's STEM-WEEK at the West Ukrainian National University is a time when education becomes research and lectures become dialogues about the future.
As part of the All-Ukrainian Festival ‘STEM Spring 2025’, an innovative lesson on international economics was held for students of the EME-11 group, which opened up new horizons of analytical thinking.
Iryna Zvarych, Doctor of Economics, Professor, Head of the Department of International Economics of the West Ukrainian National University, provided a professional attitude and expertise. Her unique approach fostered a view of economics as not a theory, but a map of the world that can be read, deciphered and explored.
The lesson was structured as an open dialogue, which contributed to the active involvement of students and a dynamic learning environment. This format increased interest in the topic, stimulated the exchange of views and created an atmosphere of analytical thinking.
Not a classroom - an analytical workshop. Students did not just listen - they analysed, discussed, and questioned. The focus was on global economic trends that are changing the global landscape. Working with international statistics from EUROSTAT, ILOSTAT and UNCTAD, the young people learned to see numbers as a mirror of reality, reflecting the challenges and opportunities of international interaction. The students analysed global economic trends, tested hypotheses and considered current issues of interaction between countries.
The STEM lab's technology platform, created with the support of the Vovk Foundation (USA), BlueCheck Ukraine and the International Institute of Communications NGO, has become not only a tool but also a catalyst for immersion in the topic. That's where analytics combined with technology, and education with practice.
STEM-WEEK at WUNU demonstrated how modern education is able to go beyond textbooks, molding a generation of economic analysts who think globally, work with data confidently, and see digital reality not as a challenge but as an opportunity. This is not just a class - it is an experience that inspires, develops and opens new horizons for those who are building tomorrow's world today.
