TNEU volunteers help people in need during quarantine and ask everyone who cares for support!
For two weeks now, TNEU Law Faculty's youth has been helping elderly people, people with disabilities, and those in need during the quarantine. At present, the group of volunteers consists of about 50 people - students and teachers of TNEU, their friends, as well as the youth of the Ternopil parishes of the UGCC.
In order to help people in need, they cooperate with the city government, members of the Generation Unity Social Initiative, whose coordinator is Olha Hordienko (this project has been uniting people of the "goldend age" for more than 2 years), as well as Franciscan fathers who have been caring for the people for a long time.
Often, acquaintances give volunteers the contacts of people who need help, and sometimes they meet by chance. Activists visit more than 20 homes every day, having helped about a hundred people in two weeks. They work all over the city both on foot and on bikes and cars.
When working, boys and girls always wear masks and gloves and keep their distance when meeting people. Volunteers deliver such essentials as masks (provided by the Generation Unity Initiative), groceries (collected with Franciscan Fathers, the Generation Unity Initiative, and charitable Ternopil citizens) and medicines.
Activists say that some retirees accept "delivery" only at their own expense, but there are those whose situation is very difficult and they may not eat for several days in a row.
Volunteers urge all people of good will to respond to the charitable initiative to help collect food for people who find themselves in a very difficult position and have no money to buy it. After all, combining our efforts, we can do much more good.
