School of Negotiations and Mediation
The School of Negotiation and Mediation as a structural subdivision of the Educational and Research Institute of Communications of the Western Ukrainian National University was established to provide educational services, in particular: to acquire skills and abilities of negotiation, conflict-free and constructive communication; to improve the professional level of psychologists, police officers, managers and other specialists working in the field of human-to-human relations.
Participation in the School's projects opens up opportunities for improvement:
- practical communication knowledge, skills and abilities;
- social communication skills;
- positive thinking in conflict situations;
- ability to negotiate;
- adherence to the principles of justice, tolerance and human dignity in communication;
- understanding the interlocutor's motivation and predicting his/her behaviour.
The main functions of the School of Negotiations and Mediation:
- Implementation of innovative educational programmes in the field of communications;
- conducting short-term courses, trainings, webinars, and negotiation consultations for employees of law enforcement agencies (SBU, MIA, criminal executive service), psychological services, business, etc. aimed at developing stress resistance, emotional intelligence, and forming key competencies using interactive tools and new approaches to successful political (diplomatic), military, trade, and humanitarian negotiations in extreme conditions;
- organisation of discussion platforms involving well-known world leaders in the political, military, humanitarian and business spheres;
- holding training tournaments, congresses, scientific conferences, summer schools, etc;
- certificate courses, advanced training in mediation for all those who wish to improve their communication and negotiation skills, including: judges and representatives of the judiciary, attorneys, notaries, lawyers, top managers, heads of human resources departments, trade unionists, educators, government officials and public figures, psychologists, sociologists, and consultants.
