About the Department of Information and Socio-Cultural Activities
The staff of the Department of Information and Socio-Cultural Activities of WUNU
provides training for specialists in the educational qualification levels of "Bachelor" and "Master" in the specialties "Management of Socio-Cultural Activities", "Information, Library and Archival Affairs", "Secondary Education (Language and Literature)" "Journalism", in the following educational programs:
- "Documentation and Information Activity"
- "Polish Language and Literature, Ukrainian Language and Literature"
- "Legal Journalism"
- "Management of socio-cultural activities".
During their studies, in addition to general disciplines, students study the following professional disciplines: PR-technologies, Analytical and synthetic information processing, Archival science and innovations in archival affairs, Bibliography, State information policy, Record keeping, Documentation, E-government, Electronic document management, Ethics and psychology of business communication, Event technologies, Information and innovative support of library activities, Information and analytical activities, Information and documentary support of organization activities, History and theory of socio-cultural activities, Communication strategies and technologies, Corporate culture, Business culture, Cultural aspects of business, Cultural and creative industries, Media communications, Media communications and journalistic ethics, International information activity, Language and ethics of business communication in the context of cross-cultural interaction, Museology, Museum Studies and Innovations in Museum Business, Organization of Exhibition Activities, Organization of Activities in the Creative Industry, Fundamentals of Multimedia Document Management, Social Communications and Social Partnership, Theory of Culture, Technology and Practice of Socio-Cultural Activities.
After graduating from the Department of Information and Socio-Cultural Activities, graduates can hold the following positions:
Documentation and information activities: reference analyst; manager of information and information-analytical services; head of the personnel department; head of the clerical service; manager for work with personnel; head of the archive/library/museum/office; head of the staff of local public authorities; director of an enterprise in the field of information activities; head of the center for the provision of administrative services; in the documentary services of justice, court.
Polish language and literature and Ukrainian language and literature: teacher of Polish and Ukrainian language and literature; proofreader/literary, scientific editor; correspondent; translator; employee of embassies, consulates, visa centers of the Republic of Poland and Ukraine; employee of the international relations department in higher education institutions of Ukraine and Poland; content manager; blogger in the educational, cultural or other sphere.
Legal journalism: an employee of the information security unit in an institution; an employee of the press service of state and local authorities; media project manager; media relations manager; information analyst in legal institutions.
Management of socio-cultural activities: head of the culture department of state and local government bodies; culture manager; information analyst; public relations specialist; expert on international cooperation in the cultural, educational, and artistic spheres; art dealer; organizer of socio-cultural services and cultural events; manager in the field of cultural and creative industries; curator of cultural and artistic projects; project manager in the cultural and artistic sphere.
The Department of Information and Socio-Cultural Activities actively cooperates with the following institutions and organizations: Ternopil Film Commission, Department of Culture of Ternopil Regional State Administration, State Archives of Ternopil Region, Ternopil Regional Library for Youth, and many other institutions where students have the opportunity to gain practical experience, participate in internships, to apply for jobs.
Our research partners are the State University of Telecommunications (Kyiv), National Aviation University (Kyiv), Ukrainian Academy of Printing (Lviv), Vasyl' Stus Donetsk National University (Vinnytsia), Open International University of Human Development "Ukraine", National University «Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic», Drohobych College of Mechanics and Technology, Vinnytsia College of Humanities and Pedagogy, Husiatyn College of Ternopil Ivan Puluj National Technical University.
International cooperation has been established with the Shota Rustaveli Batumi State University (Georgia), the Catholic University in Ruzomberk (Slovakia), the University of Warmia and Mazury (Poland), the General Tadeusz Kosciuszko Army Academy (Poland), the Higher School of Management and Administration (Poland), and the Pontifical Gregorian University (Italy).
