WEST UKRAINIAN NATIONAL UNIVERSITY

 A meeting of the interdepartmental working group tasked with developing a curriculum for trainers on working with veterans within the criminal justice system was recently held in Kraków (Republic of Poland), attended by Oksana Koval, Director of the Education and Research Centre for Communications at WUNU.

 On April 30, 2026, an online meeting of the Steering Committee of the international TURBO project, implemented within the Erasmus+ CBHE programme, took place.

 As part of the celebrations for Europe Days at West Ukrainian National University, Olena Motuzenko, Associate Professor of the Department of International Relations and Diplomacy at the B. Havrylyshyn Institute of International Relations, who is currently serving as a visiting professor at the University of Brescia (Italy), held an international academic seminar on 6 May 2026 entitled ‘Ricostruire il Futuro: Strategie Sostenibili per la Rigenerazione Post-Conflitto’ (‘Rebuilding the Future: Sustainable Strategies for Post-Conflict Regeneration’).

 Researchers of West Ukrainian National University have joined an international consortium that has won a grant competition organised by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) with the research project ‘Data-Driven Strategies for Intelligent Resilient Renewable Energy Systems (IRRES) Under Wartime Conditions’. This project is interdisciplinary in nature and is coordinated by the Research and Development Institute of Intelligent Computer Systems.

 West Ukrainian National University supports the initiative of our partners, B2 Ljubljana School of Business (Ljubljana, Slovenia), and invites students (undergraduates and postgraduates) to take part in a short international survey.

 Anetta Zielińska, Associate Professor at the Wroclaw University of Economics (Poland) and Honorary Doctor of West Ukrainian National University, paid a working visit to the university.

 As part of efforts to expand international cooperation and implement innovative strategies for sustainable development, staff from the International Centre for Culture and Development, along with students Khrystyna Kazmirchuk, Viktoriia Mazurenko and Viktor Slabodukh from the B11 ‘Philology’ programme at West Ukrainian National University, took part in a working visit to the city of Ronneby (Sweden). The trip, which took place from 20 to 22 April 2026, was part of the ‘Water for Life’ project, funded by the Swedish International Centre for Local Democracy (ICLD).

 As part of STEM Week, a themed event called A-ART & AI DAY was held on the topic of ‘Creativity and Artificial Intelligence’.

 Uliana Koruts, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and Research at WUNU, presented the TURBO microcredit programme at a regional event organised by the National Qualifications Agency as part of the regional event ‘Education and the Labour Market: Strategy for Social Partnership’, organised in partnership with West Ukrainian National University.

 As part of the international conference ‘Ukraine in the Context of Legal System Reform’, Dr Monika Strus-Wolos — a Doctor of Law from the University of Warsaw and a partner at a renowned law firm in Warsaw — visited West Ukrainian National University. Her participation in the events made a significant contribution to the development of international academic dialogue and the support of Ukrainian legal education. During her presentation, Dr Strus-Wolos shared European experience of legal system reform, focusing on the practical aspects of the legal profession, the protection of human rights and the improvement of civil proceedings.
