WUNU representatives joined the international environmental project ‘Water for Life’ in Sweden

 As part of efforts to expand international cooperation and implement innovative strategies for sustainable development, staff from the International Centre for Culture and Development, along with students Khrystyna Kazmirchuk, Viktoriia Mazurenko and Viktor Slabodukh from the B11 ‘Philology’ programme at West Ukrainian National University, took part in a working visit to the city of Ronneby (Sweden). The trip, which took place from 20 to 22 April 2026, was part of the ‘Water for Life’ project, funded by the Swedish International Centre for Local Democracy (ICLD).



‘Creativity and Artificial Intelligence’

 As part of STEM Week, a themed event called A-ART & AI DAY was held on the topic of ‘Creativity and Artificial Intelligence’.



WUNU’s trusted partners

 As part of the international conference ‘Ukraine in the Context of Legal System Reform’, Dr Monika Strus-Wolos — a Doctor of Law from the University of Warsaw and a partner at a renowned law firm in Warsaw — visited West Ukrainian National University. Her participation in the events made a significant contribution to the development of international academic dialogue and the support of Ukrainian legal education. During her presentation, Dr Strus-Wolos shared European experience of legal system reform, focusing on the practical aspects of the legal profession, the protection of human rights and the improvement of civil proceedings.



Launch of the ‘Fundamentals of European Integration’ training series as part of the ‘Jean Monnet Chair in European Integration at WUNU’ project

 A new educational project is starting at West Ukrainian National University — a series of training sessions entitled ‘Fundamentals of European Integration’, initiated by the staff of the Jean Monnet Chair in European Integration. The programme is being run by the B. Havrylyshyn Institute of International Relations and will take place from 10 April to 30 June 2026.



STEM Week at WUNU: T–TECHNOLOGY DAY ‘Technologies of the Future’ – European experiences in innovation

 The second day of STEM Week at WUNU – T – TECHNOLOGY DAY: ‘Technologies of the Future’ – proved to be an exceptionally dynamic, informative and inspiring event. It was held at the STEM R&D Lab as part of the All-Ukrainian ‘STEM Spring 2026’ festival.



Successful completion of the COIL project

 Students from the B. Havrylyshyn Institute of International Relations of WUNU, together with students from BCIT (British Columbia Institute of Technology, Canada), have successfully completed the COIL (Collaborative Online International Learning) project, which aims to foster international academic cooperation and integrate Ukrainian students into the global educational community. It was an exciting journey – from the initial introductions within the international teams to the final presentations of their own research.



WUNU lecturers and students took part in the ‘RITA – Przemiany w regionie’ programme

 Lecturers and students of West Ukrainian National University of Physical Education and Sport programme took part in the ‘RITA – Przemiany w regionie’ project, which is run by the Education for Democracy Foundation and co-funded by the Polish-American Freedom Foundation.



WUNU researchers led a training session entitled ‘The ABCs of Sustainable Development and How to Develop Competencies in Sustainable Management’

 From 13 to 17 April 2026, the team behind the ERASMUS+ CBHE project ‘Education for sustainable development: synergy of competences for the recovery of Ukraine’ (SUSTED) ran a training session for lecturers entitled ‘The ABC of SD & how to develop sustainable management competencies?’.




The Department of International Relations and Diplomacy is developing international cooperation: a guest lecture by British academic Ben Garner

 As part of the educational platform ‘International Relations and Diplomacy: British Guest Lectures’ organised by the Department of International Relations and Diplomacy of WUNU, a lecture entitled ‘The Donroe Doctrine: Understanding Trump’s Approach to Latin America” was held for students of the “International Relations” degree programme.

 Klaipėda University, in collaboration with The Baltic University Programme, invites academics, researchers and practitioners to participate in the 22nd International Scientific Conference “Social Innovations for Sustainable Regional Development”, which will take place on 7–8 May 2026 at the university in Klaipėda.
